Men’s tennis falls to Longhorns

The USF men’s tennis team had no answer for Texas as they fell 7-0 to the No. 20 Longhorns on Saturday.

In their fifth loss this year and second straight road loss, the Bulls (3-5) fell hard as they were swept in both doubles and singles competition. After losing the doubles point for the sixth time out of eight matches, USF’s Juan Carlos Gomez was forced to forfeit his match due to injury. Juan Barragan and Frederico Barton fell to the Longhorns, 6-1, 6-4 and 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, respectively, sealing a Texas victory.

Dillon Brozyna, Mark Gattiker and Uli Kiendl finished soon after, adding three more points to the Longhorns win column. The Bulls will take on Georgia State today at 2 p.m. on the varsity courts.
