AD search nets four more applicants

USF’s search for a new athletic director drew four new applicants Monday, bringing the number of applications received to 14.

Applying Monday were: Keith Lueck, director of marketing for the Columbus Wardogs of the Arena Football League 2; Paul Gardiner, teacher and swimming coach at Delran High School in New Jersey; David Gillespie, assistant athletic director at Nebraska; and Valerie Sheley, interim associate athletic director at Maryland.

Connecticut Associate Athletic Director Tom McElroy and Orange Bowl CEO Keith Tribble are both expected to apply after meeting with USF officials last week. The search committee hopes to begin interviewing candidates by mid-May and to have made a recommendation to USF President Judy Genshaft by mid-summer.
