Bulls defensive end tentative for Saturday’s game

Sophomore defensive end Jon Simmons is questionable for the Bulls’ game against Louisville on Saturday due to a hand injury sustained in practice three weeks ago.

“He hit his hand on a helmet or something,” USF coach Jim Leavitt said.

Simmons participated in practice yesterday, but is questionable for USF’s first Conference USA home game Saturday.

“We are going to have to see how he feels,” Leavitt said.

Simmons, a graduate of Clearwater Catholic High, redshirted in the 2001 season, played in four games for the Bulls last season, and has seen some playing time this season Leavitt said.

Simmons is one of five Clearwater Catholic graduates playing for USF, one of whom is senior wide receiver Chris Iskra.
