Update: Golesh named to 15 under 40, new series added with FIU
CBS Sports writer Dennis Dodd named Bulls coach Alex Golesh to the top 15 college coaches under 40 list.
Golesh shot to national attention with a breakout season as the offensive coordinator of Tennessee. The Volunteers’ offense ranked first in the country in points scored and yards per play. Golesh also coached quarterback redshirt senior Hendon Hooker to a Heisman Trophy finalist season.
When Golesh accepted the position on Dec. 4, he became one of a few FBS coaches to never play college football, according to the report.
USF has also announced a future two-game series with FIU, with the respective matchups taking place in 2026 and 2029.
South Florida will host FIU at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Sept. 5, 2026. Three seasons later, the Bulls will face the Panthers at Riccardo Silva Stadium on Sept. 29, 2029.
2-game series with FIU added.
