Suspended player faces marijuana charge

USF junior wide receiver Terrance Mitchell’s indefinite suspension announced Monday may be linked to the misdemeanor charges he faces from earlier this month for the
possession of marijuana, according to a Tampa Bay Times article.

Mitchell was suspended along with Chris Dunkley, who has been suspended since September for a domestic violence battery charge, and running back Bradley Battles, who has been suspended multiple times, the article said.

According to the article, Mitchell was issued a notice to appear in Hillsborough County court on Monday for his arraignment.

The charge could result in six months of probation and community service.

As the Bulls’ second leading receiver in 2012, Mitchell racked up 31 receptions for 414 yards, missing just one game.

“They could be back,” coach Willie Taggart said on Monday. “They have to do something. Do what it takes to get back out there — you don’t just get on this team any kind of way.”
