IN BRIEF

USF’s external phone system experienced technical difficulties Thursday. Phone calls from outside the campus telephone system were unable to connect properly.

A USF e-mail alert stated “connections to most of the outside world have problems (both inbound and outbound). One party will be unable to hear the other.”

USF sent a MoBull text-message alert around 11 a.m. that stated “landline phones were not working for external calls and advised everyone to use cell phones and e-mail.”

Both the e-mail and MoBull alert also said only phone calls made from one campus phone to another and 911 emergency were working.

Vickie Chachere, news manager for University Communications and Marketing, said Verizon fixed the problem around 1 p.m. when she returned to campus.
