Syracuse game set for noon kickoff
The sun won’t be shining in the Carrier Dome when the Bulls face Syracuse on Nov. 11, but it will be the third daytime kickoff in a row for South Florida.
It has been announced that the Bulls’ Big East match-up with the Orange will kickoff at noon.
The game will be broadcast regionally on Bright House Networks’ Catch 47 in the Tampa Bay area.
The 2007 season has featured more daytime kickoffs than last year. In 2006, the Bulls had six night games through the first 10 games of the season. This year, South Florida will have had three noon games and six daytime kickoffs after Week 10.
While USF has a 3-1 record in both day and night games this season, last year the Bulls were 6-0 in day games and 3-4 when playing at night.
Thon makes honor rollThe Big East announced Monday that South Florida volleyball player Mariana Thon has been named to the Conference’s weekly honor roll for the week ending Oct. 28.
Thon helped lead the Bulls to a 2-1 record last week, averaging 10.38 assists per game and hitting a team-high .474. The freshman tallied her second career double-double in a 59-assist, 13-dig contest. In a pivotal win against Big East rival Villanova on Saturday, Thon fell one dig shy of getting the third double-double of her career, finishing the match with 41 assists and nine digs.
