WOMEN’S SOCCER GAME TIME
USF (0-0) at Stetson (0-0)
When: Today 4 p.m.
Where: Stetson Soccer Complex
The USF women’s soccer team begins regular season play tonight in Deland. The Bulls, led by new head coach Denise Schilte-Brown, will take on the Stetson University Hatters.
USF will aim to carry its preseason momentum into Friday’s game. The Bulls went 2-0-1 during exhibition play , including a 3-0 win over the University of Central Florida Knights. Schilte-Brown aspires to improve a Bulls team that finished 4-10-1 last season, including losses in five of their last six games of the season.
“We know that we have to take games one at a time,” Schilte-Brown said. “Right now, all of our thinking, talking and training is for our game at Stetson.”
The Bulls have had Stetson’s number in recent years. The team holds a 9-2-1 all-time record over the Hatters. In the last six meetings, the Bulls are 5-0-1 and have outscored Stetson 13-0.
