Men’s basketball player dismissed from team

USF men’s basketball point guard David Sills has been dismissed from the program, coach Robert McCullum announced Tuesday.

“David’s behavior and attitude were detrimental to the program, and as a result, we felt it was in the best interest of the team to dismiss him,” McCullum said in a statement. “He had numerous opportunities to show he wanted to fit in, and unfortunately, it didn’t work out.”

Sills, a 6-foot-1 guard, arrived at USF after playing two years in junior college at Odessa College (2002-03) and Southern Idaho (2003-04), then earned a degree from Bunker Hill Community College.

“We wish David the best of luck in his basketball endeavors and are willing to help him find a program with which he may be a better fit,” McCullum said.
