The story: The men’s soccer team will try to get back on track against DePaul after dropping a close game over the weekend to Syracuse, 1-0. The loss against the Orange was the first for USF in Big East play.

The Bulls had won the previous five games in a row, the longest winning streak for the team since 1998 and the best streak to date under the helm of coach George Kiefer. The Bulls had a five-game unbeaten streak during the regular season and went on to become Conference-USA champs and made a NCAA Tournament appearance under Coach John Hackworth .

The Blue Demons weren’t looking too hot until they beat Syracuse, 1-0, on Oct. 1. It was the first victory for DePaul in the Big East, and broke a three-game slide for the squad.

The Demons are led by Adam Herrmsen, who has three goals and an assist on the season, and Jeff Degroot, who also has three goals and racked up six points.

The Bulls will lead their ground assault with freshman Jordan Seabrook, who has launched seven goals into the net this season, and sophomore forward Rodrigo Hidalgo, who has two goals and eight assists on the year.

USF has a perfect record against the Blue Demons at USF Soccer Stadium, 9-0-0.

The Bulls won their last game against DePaul on the road, 1-0, in overtime.

Keep an eye on: Dane Brenner. The junior goalkeeper has played in every minute of every game so far this season, and has two shutouts and a 1.49 goals against average.
