Rosie Flores: Rockabilly Royalty
A crack guitar picker and capable vocalist with a flare for conveying emotional grit, Rosie Flores can light up a dance hall with the best of them. The feisty country-rocker has been inspiring crowds from Texas to Europe to rise and boogie to her driving back beat for more than two decades. Flores’s latest release, Speed of Sound, is a seamless blend of originals and covers ranging from Johnny Cash’s classic “Country Boy,” to the tender title track that Flores penned herself. In addition to the rockabilly numbers by which she has built her reputation, there are also some beautiful jazz selections on the album that Flores wraps her brassy pipes around with equal aplomb.
