Football player, Jefferson Commons Apartments sued
A civil suit was filed Wednesday in the Hillsborough County Courts naming Lee Roy Selmon Jr. and the Jefferson Commons Apartments as co-defendants. The plaintiff, Clint Lowman, had pressed charges against Selmon Jr., who was arrested Oct. 15 for assault. Lowman said he was beaten outside of a party in the Jefferson Commons Apartment complex. A police report was filed, citing the time of the incident at 1:35 a.m. on Sept. 16, and Selmon Jr. was later picked out of a picture lineup.
Selmon Jr., who is the son of USF Athletics Director Lee Roy Selmon, was utilizing a redshirt season with the football team in order to save a year of eligibility. Selmon has been suspended from the team since his October arrest.
