Perkins wins C-USA award
Sophomore goalkeeper Troy Perkins was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week Tuesday. Perkins recorded two shutouts in the season-opening USF Reebok Classic during the weekend, as the Bulls beat Lafayette Friday and Florida International Sunday by 1-0 margins. In Sunday’s match against FIU, Perkins saved nine shots, including a penalty kick in the second minute. Perkins was one of six Bulls named to the All-Tournament Team, and was adjudged the Tournament Most Valuable Player.
