A male was arrested for “unlawfully entering” a residence hall wearing only boxer shorts and touching a victim while she slept in her room Friday, said University Police (UP) spokeswoman Lt. Meg Ross.

Daniel C. Boliek, who is not a USF student, entered Beta Hall in his boxer shorts before 6 a.m. and made his way into the victim’s room and touched the female’s face with his hand, according to a police report.

The victim’s roommate woke up and caught Boliek.

“It was really scary for me,” the roommate said. “I was trying to be as calm as possible. I was thinking, ‘why is he here?’”

When the roommate saw Boliek touching the victim, she asked Boliek if she could help him.

Boliek then left the room and she locked the door.

She said Boliek attempted to get back into the room after he left and was charging at the door.

According to the report, she told police that through the peephole she saw Boliek “disrobe” completely and approach an RA, “motioning toward her as if to shoot her with his hand.”

When Boliek attempted to punch the RA and shove her backward, the RA “fled into her room” and called UP, the report said.

Ross said she did not know how Boliek was able to enter the residence hall, which requires swipe card access.

Once UP arrived, Boliek “sucker punched” an officer in the nose, according to the report. Police attempted to use pepper spray on him, but it was ineffective.

Boliek then began to masturbate toward the officer and said, “I’m jerking off right now,” according to the report.

Boliek fled Beta Hall and ignored officers’ commands. He was eventually taken to the ground and was arrested around 6:05 a.m.

For his safety, Boliek was put into a restraining device, the report said.

As of Sunday night, Boliek was still being held at Orient Road Jail on $155,750 bond.

Police charged him with three felonies: battery on a law enforcement officer, burglary of an occupied dwelling with battery and battery on a university official.

UP also charged Boliek with four misdemeanors: battery, obstructing or opposing an officer, exposure of a sexual organ and disorderly conduct, according to the charge report.

The victim and the RA could not be reached for comment.

He must have had a mental break, cause I can't imagine me or anyone I know doing anything like that while tripping. I have heard things like that happening though.

Secondly, to to idiots who are defending this low life, just to let you know, the "Good Guys" who invited him to visit Beta are now looking for another school to attend......thats after they get out of jail for the drug arrests..

It's nice to see that something was done this time, I understand that nothing was done to the girls who entered dorm rooms wearing masks. UP and the administration needs to take whatever steps they can to protect us in our dorms. I'm glad to see that UP arrested this guy, I just wish others who had done similar actions would have been charged.

I wonder what the excuse from administration will be this time. As we saw a few weeks ago with the bomb threat the University is undergoing a major crime spree. I'm sure administration will say they are doing the best they can and do not have any money to make things better. How about armed security guards at every residence hall entrance??? Give the RA taser guns!! Oh administration is too busy trying to raise money for the rainy day fund!!

I cant imagine why after so many crime incidents on our campus lately is the residential department still not tightening the rules on dorm entry. Are they actually waiting for something big and bad to happen?

This is why people should never let people into the halls unless they personally know who they are and what they're doing there. My friends and I hang out in the lobby of our hall a lot, and people outside sometimes get really angry at us when we don't let them in. First of all, if I don't know you, I have no idea if you're a random psycho like this guy who might try to get into my room. Second of all, I don't want to get up every five seconds to let people in just because I like to hang out in the lobby; it's your problem if you forgot your card. Why is this rule not being enforced like it was last year?

He wasn't some creep who snuck in behind someone. He was staying with someone in the dorm who he was visiting. Anybody who has ever met him can tell you he was WITHOUT A DOUBT under the influence of drugs. He is not a regular user and was partying with friends. Everyone is DEVASTATED to hear this news as he was an outstanding kid. He did well in school, stayed out of trouble, was extremely polite and is a good person. Unfortunately he made a bad decision and took a drug that severely altered his perception and orientation. Every student should take this as a cautionary tale that occasionally doing recreational drugs (whatever it may be) is a big deal. Just one bad trip can ruin the rest of your life. He wanted to help people and had planned on going into the police academy, now he never will.

Hey "R.A.".

Do you and others resident assistants warn your wards to lock up their doors at night ONLY when there is a break-in somewhere?? To me, keeping your door locked is an obvious no brainer.
