After dropping its regular season opener to UCF for the second consecutive season, the USF women’s soccer team responded in a big way.

The Bulls followed with a 1-0 home win over the Miami Hurricanes and a 3-0 win on the road over the Indiana Hoosiers. Junior Sharla Passariello punched through two goals at Indiana, after scoring once against Miami, taking her regular season total to three goals after scoring three in exhibition play.

“She’s a dangerous player.” coach Denise Schilte-Brown said, “Consistency, we’ve always thought, was really important with Sharla, and we’re really excited that we’re getting that this season.”

Draper leads Bulls to first win as head coach

After losing to Wisconsin and Creighton in the first two games of the USF Invitational, the USF volleyball team gutted out a five- set victory over rival UCF to get the first win of the Courtney Draper era.

Sophomore outside hitter Valerie El Houssine picked up 20 kills and 15 digs to earn a spot on the all-tournament team.

“I really feel like the buy-in is happening more and more” Draper said. “I just keep telling them the same things and they’re executing them a little bit better each time.”
