Three former USF football players have been invited to attend the annual NFL Scouting Combine this week at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The trio, all graduating seniors from the 2017 team, are quarterback Quinton Flowers, defensive tackle Deadrin Senat and wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling. All three received and accepted invitations to the weeklong showcase that will put more than 300 top NFL prospects through both physical and mental tests ahead of the 2018 NFL Draft, which runs April 26-28.

Flowers, who set 42 program records as a three-year starter at USF, and Valdes-Scantling, who set the program’s season receiving yards record in 2017, will both take part in on-field workouts Saturday.

Senat, who finished second on the team to Auggie Sanchez with 66 tackles last season, will go through on-field workouts Sunday. According to NFL.com analyst Lane Zierlein’s projections, Senat will be the first USF player taken in the Draft.

"His squatty frame will limit his scheme fit to 4-3 teams looking for a shade nose in all likelihood,” Zierlein said. “Senat is strong and efficient with a big man's game in a shorter man's body. While he's compact in frame, his arm length is decent and he has the hand quickness to win the initial battle to create a leveraged position. Senat's postseason (including an impressive bowl performance) has a chance to really bolster his stock and push him up the board."

In addition to the Combine, both Senat and Flowers were invited to play in the annual East-West Shrine Game in January to help raise their draft stock.

Due to different reasons, neither Flowers (death in family) nor Senat (minor knee injury) played in the actual game, but both practiced throughout the week with NFL scouts and coaches in attendance.

Valdes-Scantling played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, in January. In the game, he tied for a team-high 39 yards with three catches.

The NFL Network will televise exclusive, live coverage of the Combine starting Friday. Coverage can also be streamed on the NFL Mobile app and at NFL.com. News, results and highlights will also be posted on NFL.com.
