Students plan for day off

Labor Day is a public U.S. holiday in celebration of working people. While many throughout America have a fun-filled day planned, some USF students have other plans, such as sleeping or relaxing after the rapid pace of the first two weeks of the semester.

Fiji Dawson, a senior at USF, said through the craziness of the start of the fall semester, “it will be nice to get some of the day to lay back and just get everything together and process that you are back at school.”

While some students may not classify as “workers,” the amount of work it takes to be a student: The late hours studying, excessive doses of caffeine and the constant stride toward graduation is considerable. Labor Day is a time for students to celebrate their own hard work, relax and refuel for next week, full of more work.
