USF baseball allowed a season high of 11 runs in a loss to Jacksonville University on Tuesday night.

With starting pitcher D.J. Roberts leaving the game after 1 2/3 innings, the Bulls only bullpen struggled to quiet Jacksonville’s bats and fell 11-9 at John Sessions Stadium.

With the game tied at six, the Dolphins scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and created a deficit the Bulls would never make up.

Roberts allowed No. 5 Florida only two earned runs in seven innings during his last start, but surrendered two earned runs in less than two innings Tuesday.

With no more weekday games left in the regular-season, the Bulls turn their attention to conference play.

Currently entangled in a three-way tie for the regular season AAC title, the Bulls will have to win at least two games against UCF in Orlando this weekend to have a shot at the regular-season title.

USF swept the Knights on the weekend of April 7 and look to do the same starting at 6:30 on Thursday night.
