Report: Guerrero, Zeigler add to growing list of basketball transfers
Junior center Ruben Guerrero and senior Bo Zeigler are set to become the fourth and fifth USF basketball players to transfer from the school since the season ended earlier this month.
According to a report from the Tampa Bay Times on Tuesday afternoon, the 7-foot, 235-pound center is seeking his release from the school. Zeigler announced that he has been granted his release and plans to play elsewhere next season.
The duo's departure would leave new USF coach Brian Gregory with just five scholarship players.
Geno Thorpe, 2016-17’s leading scorer, was the first Bull to go, electing to simply graduate rather than play his senior season. Then, forwards Malik Fitts and Luis Santos requested their release from the school to transfer elsewhere.
In his final season at USF, the 7-foot Spaniard played in all 30 games for the Bulls, averaging 5.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game while leading the team with 37 blocks.
