Six minutes after reservations for the University Lecture Series (ULS) April 4 featuring actress Viola Davis opened Monday, the seats in the MSC Ballroom were filled, according to spokeswoman Renee Hunt.

She said the ULS team responded by looking for another venue that would seat more people. It settled on the Sun Dome, which is able to hold over 10,400 people. As of publication, 2,400 students have registered for tickets through bullsync.

Hunt said the tickets will be split with 80 percent reserved for students and 20 percent for community members, which has been used at previous ULS events. Students can reserve tickets at usf.edu/ulsreg.

Along with the venue change, the lecture has been moved to 8 p.m. with doors opening at 7.

Davis is a Tony-, Oscar- and Emmy-winning actress. She won the Academy Award this year for her role in "Fences." She's also the first person in 2017 to be given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She's known for appearances in "The Help," "How to Get Away With Murder" and "Suicide Squad."

Davis will be speaking about her life as an African-American woman in Hollywood along with her experiences growing up in poverty.
