CAB to create candy winter wonderland

From a cappucino cart to a stuffed animal machine, the Campus Activities Board (CAB) is working to create a holiday event designed to relieve students' stess before finals.

The  Willy-Wonka-themed "Winter Wonkaland" will feature a synthetic ice rink and snow. Students can stay warm with a cappuccino or new custom plush friend made at the stuff-a-plush station.

Willy Wonka-themed decorations and candy stations add a new twist on an annual event.

“This is one of our traditional events,” Joshua Wilson, associate director at the Center for Student Involvement and Fraternity/Sorority Life at USF, said.  “We’re excited to bring it back this year.”

Wilson hopes that students take time to destress and enjoy the sights and sounds of Wonkaland before finals week begins.

He said that the event is “an opportunity to socialize and network one last time before the semester ends.”

Winter Wonkaland will be held Tuesday from 9 p.m. to midnight at the MLK Plaza and Lawn.

“No semester is ever the same … [this] is a great opportunity for folks to celebrate the end of the semester with a fun, free event,” said Wilson.
