Free admission for staff, faculty
USF staff and faculty members will be admitted free of charge to this coming weekend’s athletic events as part of the Spring Sports Festival. The weekend slate includes a baseball game Friday against Massachusetts at 1 p.m. at Red McEwen Field and a softball doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. against Houston at the USF Softball Complex. The softball team returns for a single game Sunday at 1 p.m.
Saturday’s men’s tennis match vs. Florida State at noon and women’s tennis match vs. Michigan at 1 p.m. will have free admission as usual.
The invitation sent to staff members serves as an admission ticket and refreshment coupon.
“We wanted to find a way to say thank you to all the faculty and staff at USF,” said Athletics Director Lee Roy Selmon.

Hackworth in Brazil with U-17 team
Bulls men’s soccer coach John Hackworth is in Brazil serving as an assistant coach with the U.S. Under-17 national team.USA competes in the Mundialito Joao Havelange tournament, March 2-10 in Rio de Janeiro. The Americans are in Group A along with Angola, Brazil and Panama.
The team moves on to France to compete in the Montaigue Tournament March 24-April 1, and the Ballymena International Tournament in Northern Ireland May 1-7. John Ellinger is the head coach.
