Holtz headed to USF
USF is expected to announce East Carolina coach Skip Holtz as its next football coach Friday at a press conference, according to multiple reports.
Holtz has won back-to-back Conference USA titles with the Pirates and spoke publicly about his interest in the job earlier this week to reporters in Orlando at the national coaches’ convention.
USF fired Jim Leavitt, the program’s only coach, on Friday after 14 years at the school. An investigation found he struck walk-on Joel Miller in the face during a game in November, which has sparked USF, Miller and Leavitt to seek the service of attorneys.
Holts was 38-27 in five seasons at ECU.
