Rashmi Prakash, a junior biomedical science major, places candles in the MLK fountain in celebration of Diwali, the Indian New Year. Sponsored by the Hindu Students Council and the Delta Pi Omega sorority, students gathered for the “Festival of Lights” and enjoyed flowers, food, lights, music and dancing. Like Diwali, the festival is a five-day celebration, sorority member Sabrina Jaglal said.
