Volleyball looking to improve in Big East, host two matches this weekend

The South Florida volleyball team, led by Junior Marcela Gurgel, will have a chance to gain ground in the Big East standings this weekend. The Bulls will host a pair of conference games at home against Marquette on Friday and Syracuse on Sunday. Both Syracuse (9-9) and Marquette (7-8) have a 2-1 Big East conference record. USF (11-7), with a 2-2 conference record, could tie for fifth in the Big East with two victories this weekend.

The Bulls are coming off a road victory in Morgantown against the University of West Virginia. Gurgel, an All-American candidate, had 14 kills. The team will play their next five games at home.
