University negligent in not recognizing President’s Day

I find it appalling that the University does not observe President’s Day as a holiday. All federal establishments recognize President’s Day by closing offices on Monday, February 21, yet USF remains open for business.

President’s Day honors the leaders of the free world and while it is overlooked, USF closes campus for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Can anyone explain this paradox to me?
