Grading scale could change again

Student Government approved a plan Tuesday that would yet again change USF’s grading scale.

If the Faculty Senate chooses to approve SG’s action, the grade of A-‘s weight will be changed from its current grade point of 3.67 to 4.0. That will mean a gap of about .7 grade points between an A- and a B+.

The new scale falls short of changing the weight of grades of A or A+, making for varying differences between grades. Detractors of the current scale have argued the point difference between grades should be equal throughout the scale.
